Born in Campbellton on Jan 25, 1940, son of the late Charles Roy Parlee and of the late Violet (Barnes) Parlee.
Bob spent 5 years serving his country in the Navy. He was a very proud veteran and loved to tell stories of the places he had visited. After this, he spent some time working as an electrician's assistant and a janitor for a local school. In 1972 he was hired on as a Freight Train Conductor by the CN Railroad and this is where his real career started. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He spent 22 wonderful years there until he was involved in a work related accident that forced his early retirement in 1994.
Bob was an avid sportsmen, enjoying fishing and hunting. He was a skilled marksmen and enjoyed many trips including hunting caribou in Northern Labrador. He also, was a member of the Masonic lodge where he at one time was the Grand Master of which he was very proud of. He was an active member for the Shriner's where he spent many hours volunteering to help the sick children which was a cause close to his heart.
He is survived by his loving wife Juanita, his sons Roy (Nancy) Parlee of Tide Head, George (Lori) Parlee of Tide Head, his daughter Darla (Rob) McInnis of Tide Head. Also, survived by his brother Buddy Parlee, and sisters Joyce McRae and Tory Farquhar. Predeceased by sisters Charlotte Touchie, Betty Sweetman and Shirley Rye. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren who he dearly loved, Andrew, Neil, Rachel, Amanda and Adam.
Funeral Service will be held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, Friday at 3 pm. Due to the Covid restrictions we are limited to approximately 50 people. Immediate family members living within the same household may sit together otherwise, social distancing will be required. To attend the Funeral Service, you must call the office at 506-789-1699
