Claude "Buck" Cyr

Born in Campbellton, NB, on August 9th, 1923, he was the son of the late Philias and the late Mildred (Hickey) Cyr. He is survived by his four children: Carl (Sue Roy), Derek (Colette Robichaud), Phyliss (David Roy) and Patty (Paul Wright); one sister Charlotte Scott (Niagara Falls, ON); two brothers: Raymond Cyr (Barrie, ON) and Donald Cyr (Campbellton, NB); seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Arnold (Ernestine) Targett; two sister-in-laws Connie Ahier and Betty Targett; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother: Jack Cyr; and two sisters: Hilda Annunziata and Marchetta Cyr.

Buck was a well-known letter carrier in the city of Campbellton, he always had a wave, friendly smile and was ready for a chat. In his early days, Buck was a standout hockey player with the Campbellton Tigers and in the off-season a gifted baseball/softball player and as a result was subsequently inducted into the Campbellton Sports Hall of Fame.

Funeral mass will be held at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Campbellton, Saturday November 3rd at 11:00 am.

Visitations at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00, and on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until time of funeral.

Donations to the St. Thomas Aquinas Church would be appreciated by the family.
