In his younger years, Don worked at the CKNB radio station in Campbellton. He had a golden voice that was very soothing and was known to many as having the best “radio voice”. Later, he worked for the Canada Postal Services where he remained until his retirement.
In 1996, he was inducted into Campbellton’s Sports Hall of Fame for his love and dedication to the local youth. Don started the Speed Demons Soccer Club and was very proud of his time coaching and mentoring youth in Campbellton. He would often tell stories about the good ol’ days when they would win soccer games and even go undefeated for a season.
Don was an active member of First Baptist Church in Campbellton and both he and Julie enjoyed fellowshipping with their church family.
We would like to thank those individuals for helping Don and Julie with care and drives. We are also very grateful to everyone who has been so supportive to Julie through phone calls, meals, and most importantly prayers.
We would also like to thank the staff at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. They were able to set up video calls with family so we could all give our love to Don as his journey Home began. Their care, compassion, and empathy shown to Don and Julie during this time went above and beyond.
We love and miss you and we look forward to seeing you again.
