Born on June 8th, 1929 in Glen Levit, NB. - their oldest child; followed by siblings Mac, Eileen, “Rollie”, and “Teddy”.
Mom grew up in the time of the depression; mourned the deaths of many young people in her community during World War II.
Intellectually bright , she skipped grades at school and aspired to be an accountant, but out of financial necessity left school at age 14 to work at T.Eaton’s company at Campbellton.
Mom adored the dances and Parties of her young adult life and was soon enamoured by a young Matapedia man- George Moran. They married on September 10th, 1955. For four years the young couple lived in Montréal- a city she loved. They returned to the Moran family home in Matapedia in 1959.
Shortly thereafter Sheena arrived, followed by Shayne, Donna, Michael and Kevin. Because of family values, Mom stayed at home to raise her children, year after year, receiving her full academic education by guarding her children’s education life.
Mom returned to outside work in the early 1980’s, first at Matapedia Variety Store, and then later as a cook for Cold Spring Camp and Camp Harmony.
George died in 1990; and some time later, with poor personal health, retirement beckoned, at age 67. Her own children were now living away; and she treasured the arrival of each of her six grandchildren, anticipating every family visit.
Over the last five years, battles with cancer, heart and lung disease stretched, but did not deplete, personal resources.
Christmas 2006 was highly anticipated. The grand-children Connar, Mackenzie and Alexander meant Cristmas with young kids in the old house again! Spent well, and happily.
After a sudden, brief illness, two days later – December 29th, 2006 mom died, being rejoined with beloved predeceased family and friends.
