M. Lanctin a été le premier pasteur que nous avons écouté.  Il est celui qui nous a appris le salut en Christ.  Il a été un vaillant travailleur et son départ est une tragédie dont la seule consolation est qu'il est maintenant avec Dieu.

J'ai souvenance, Micheline et Samuel, des temps passes au camp d'ete dans l'Allagash. Monsieur Lanctin est parti rejoindre mon pere en presence du seigneur, juste un an plus tard.

Dear Mrs. Lanctin and Family,

We are deeply saddened to hear of your recent loss.  Mr. Lanctin was always there for us in our time of need both in our Baptist church in Mannsettlement as well as in our personal lives. We especially remember calling upon him to visit my husband in the Maria hospital in the late hours of the night.  We always felt we could depend on him and of course he would never let us down.  He will be greatly missed by all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

JD, I am deeply saddened by the passing of your Dad. Although it's been a while since I last spoke with your Dad (Natasha's wedding) I remember always smiling while chatting with him during our frequent contact years past...always! Imagine a person always having an uplifting presence on another person. Quite remarkable. Equally remarkable is his unequaled caring, kindness, generosity and breadth of humanitarianism. He guided and assisted vast numbers. You must be very proud! As you go forward through your difficult times of grieving and healing, know fully that my family and I will always be there for you and all of your family.

Our deepest sympathy on the death of Eugene- a very sad day.  Eugene was the first of the ministers of Campbellton to welcome us when we came, and he was so kind to introduce me to the ministry that we shared at the Regional and Restigouche Hospitals. Our condolences to Micheline and family. Eugene was a man of God and of the community. He welcomed our family when we arrived last year, and was a great encourager to me. His loss will be felt throughout the church community and the community at large. You are in our prayers in this time of loss.

Eugene's family: I was brought up in Lewisville and attended Lewisville Baptist Church. I remember hearing about The Lanctins and always appreciated their devotion to the Lord and never gave up serving Him even though the opposition was great. LaBonNouvelle was a wonderful Christian book store and appreciated their endevour to serve the Community. I am now 83 years old and remember the family well. We want to extend our sympathies and love to your family.  I appreciated knowing Eugene through the Missionary Conferences in NB.  His fervour and excitement for spreading the good news of the Gospel and his interest in missionary work was always paramount in his vision.  He distributed the Love Loaf in his area to further the work of World Vision and it was always a great pleasure to meet and talk with him and share his love of Jesus. I was shocked and quite saddened when I read in the Times Transcript of Pastor Lanctins sudden passing.  He no doubt influenced more people than most others by his life and teaching.  God bless and comfort you at this time.

Please permit me to offer my deepest condolences on behalf of all of your friends in the Convention family at the loss of your beloved Eugene. As a former Mayor, I know firsthand of the generous religious and humanitarian services Eugene provided to Campbellton and area residents. He was a caring and comforting man. Campbellton and area are a better place and a great many people have had their lives improved because of his kindness.
The family will be in our thoughts and prayers as you celebrate his life.

The sympathy of Rev. Jim, Debbie, Caleb and Abbey MacDonald of Moncton, NB is sent to all the Lanctin family at this very sad time. During our 10 years in Campbellton (1993-2003) we got to know Eugene and Micheline very well. We also had the privilege of meeting JD and Gisele and since moving to Moncton have met Samuel, Janice and Allie as well. We are so sorry to hear of this tragedy and can’t imagine how difficult this must be. 
I know that Eugene was a few years my senior but certainly did not believe he could be 75 years old. Eugene always seemed energetic and full of life. Eugene certainly loved his family and spoke of them affectionately. He also loved his community and I recall so many people recounting his involvement in so many ways. Did he not coach hockey as well in earlier days?
Debbie and I always appreciated Eugene and Micheline’s involvement with the local clergy association. Eugene always made sure members didn’t forget to organize a Christmas gathering for clergy colleagues and their spouses. It was always a wonderful relaxing time together in the midst of a busy time of year and a great way in which to get to know one another a little better. You can’t build a better community without making sure you take time to build better relationships and I believe Eugene made this one of his goals. The North Shore of New Brunswick bids farewell to a very caring and community minded citizen whose inner brightness shone through frequent good deeds and countless acts of care and concern.
Eugene may you rest well for I believe you already live on in fine children and grandchildren. We will be thinking of you all especially on Wednesday morning and in the days to follow. Peace and comfort to all.

Dear Mrs. Lanctin and family, I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Lanctin's untimely passing. Your family was so warm and welcoming to me when I was a child and I have many good memories of the "road trips" Mr. Lanctin would take us on. It is hard to realize that Eugene's work is finished and he is gone. We remember the visits he and you made with us at New Maryland and the good fellowship we enjoyed. I have been thinking about you all today and remembering the many many years ago at Shiktehawk when your husband, father, grandfather & friend touched my life and to this day none of us from the Schofield family in Plaster Rock have ever forgotten those beautiful chalk drawings and the drawings left on our hearts by Eugene & his brother.  Bill & I spoke of Eugene just a couple weeks ago as he is heading to Angola on a work experience.
