

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 25th, 2016 at the age of 72, Frederick George Saunders of Campbellton, husband of Anne (Grenier) Saunders. Born in Rothsay, NB on April 26, 1944, son of the late Frederick James “Teddy” Saunders and the late Isabelle Carpenter.
Fred was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 213. In his field of work he travelled across Canada. On his retirement he helped his wife to operate there Special Care Home. He enjoyed travelling over many areas in the United States with his wife and their clients and his dog sweet-Pen, and many special trips with his grandson Zach. He attended Gateway Assembly church until it was not possible. He was always happy to see the Haine family who were so kind to him. They were with him, along with his wife and best friend Rocky when the Lord came to take him home. Fred’s favorite hymn was Amazing Grace which was sung to him while he was waiting for the Lord to come and take him home. Thank you Darleen, Coleen & Mr. Rev. Kaine. He will be missed by everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Grenier-Saunders; his son, Bruce of Alberta; his daughter, Karen (Paul) of Saint John; his step-sons, Sandor Grenier (Sylvia)-his best friends of Saint John, and Nick Grenier (Nicole) Quispamsis and his grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary, Jaimie, Jacob, Alex and Isaac. Also surviving his special clients, Jacqueline, Mary and Lisa from the Special Care Home.
Funeral Service will be held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, on Wednesday June 15 at 2 pm. Visitation at the Maher’s Funeral Chapel, Wednesday from 1 pm until time of funeral.
Donations to the Gideon Bible Association or to a charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
