He was known in his community as a hard worker, friendly and always ready to lend a helping hand. He was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time in his childhood home in Dawsonville. He worked for the Village of Atholville and the City of Campbellton for over 25 years. He was the favorite uncle of all his nieces and nephews, always ready for a bear hug. He will be sadly missed.
He leaves to mourn his long-time friend June Lapointe, his mother Ida Main Barthe, his step brother John (Suzanne) Barthe of Malauze, brothers Philip Barthe of Moncton, Patrick Barthe of Glenlevit, his step-sister Barbara Gould of Squaw Cap, sisters Almeda (Dennis) Murray of Glencoe, Marilyn (Charles) Perkison of Edmundston, Margaret (Richard) Blaquière of Bathurst, Ruby (Brian) Spencer of Parker’s Ridge, Dianna Barthe of Cross Point, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Step-father William Barthe, brother Edison Barthe and sister Linda Brideau.
A funeral service was held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St, Campbellton, Wednesday at 2:00 pm.
