She passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 22, 2025, at the age of 90. Wayne passed away April 22 of 2014, and exactly 11 years later, Jean decided to join her other half. Jean was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her first born Lanson (Debbie) of Campbellton; grandson Nathan (Megan) and great-grandson Heath, Errol (Patti) of Tide Head; grandchildren Cassie and Steven, and Timmy (Susie) of Tide Head; grandchildren Shannon, Cory and great-grandson Lee. She will be remembered with love by many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws who have many fond memories of Jean over the years.
Jean was born on January 2, 1935 in Campbellton, NB to the late Lanson Pollock and Georgina Smith, being one of seven siblings, spending her earlier years growing up in Glenlevit. In the mid 1970s she worked in radio engineering in Atholville, NB. Later, she became a familiar and cherished face in the cafeteria of the senior high school, where she spent years serving generations of students.
Jean’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of St. Andrews United Church in Tide Head. She found great joy and comfort in spending her Sunday mornings among her church family where she rarely missed a service. Her kitchen was a place of magic, known mostly for her macaroni casserole and chocolate chip cookies. Jean had a gift for turning the ordinary into something extraordinary— quilting, knitting, painting, crafts, each piece made with care. Many remember and enjoyed her craft shows that took place in her home. Jean also loved gardening, playing cards, road trips with Wayne, shopping in Presque Isle; but nothing brought Jean more happiness than time spent with family making memories. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she adored and spoiled. Jean was a kind soul who leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, wit and strength. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always celebrated.
A funeral will be held at the Tide Head United Church on Friday, July 18 at 2:00pm with visitations from 1:00pm until the funeral.
