

Passed away at the Maria Hospital on July 10, 2017 at the age of 92, Helena Irvine Lyons of Mann Settlement, QC, wife of the late Norman Benford Lyons. Born in Mann Settlement on December 18, 1924, daughter of the late Murdock Irvine and the late Mary Huntington.
She was a teacher, leaving Mann Settlement for Black Cape, before becoming a full time mother and homemaker. Helena provided great comfort to the many family members and guests that passed through her home, and her fun loving and peaceful demeanour will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Jack (Ruth), Anne (Randy) Wetmore, Charlotte, Sandra (Dennis) Crowley, Norman (Heather), Cindy (Walt) Parks, Lori (Clayton) Bird, Nancy (Greg) Matthews; her brother, Graydon and her sister, Marina. Her grandchildren, Stacey (Mike), Kristopher (Krissy), Valerie (Kevin), Susan (Patrick), Brandon (Lauren), Ryan (Vanessa), Jessie, Maynard (Nicole), Jack, Matthew, Kate, Andrew, and Erin. Her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kyra, Kaiden, Angelica, Celena, Blake, Brooklyn, Jacob, Morgan, and Landon. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman, son, Maynard, her son-in-law Raymond and her parents; as well as her sisters Bertha and Isabel; her brothers, Russell and Murdoch, and her special uncle John Lyons.
A funeral service will be held at the Baptist Church in Campbellton, on Thursday, July 13th, at 2:00 pm
Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 and Thursday afternoon at the church from 1:00 pm until time of funeral.
