

He was born on August 20, 1954, in Dalhousie to the late John Caplin and the late Josephine LaBillois.
Herman worked as an assistant Captain on LAN. He enjoyed his drives in the woods with his “buddy”. Herman loved his wife and wanted to give her the world, as she deserved. Being a big fan of hockey, you could see him at all the local hockey games. Herman loved to have family over, where you would find him sitting in his chair with a toy box for little ones to play with, as he cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He leaves behind: wife Donna Caplin, Son Jeffery, son Daniel, his daughter Jolene, Brother Glen Caplin and all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by: his parents and his brothers Mike, Jasper and his sister June
A funeral mass for Herman will be held on March 18, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the St-John Bosco Church in Dalhousie, with visitations at the funeral home in Eel River starting at 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral.
