Irene Chuliner Callaghan

Passed away at the Campbellton Nursing Home on January 12, 2018, Mrs Irene Callaghan, wife of the late Reginald Callaghan. Born in Port Arthur, Ontario on September 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Chuliner and the late Mary Grady.

Irene was a Registered Nurse who trained and worked at the Hotel Dieu Hospital and in later years worked at the Campbellton Nursing Home. She was a member of Mary Queen Parish until its closure, a member of St. Anthony’s CWL and also a Co-Worker of Mother Theresa.

She is survived by her children: Tom (Cecile), Patrick (the late Jane Grant), Shaun (Marie), Suzanne O’Brien (Jack), Joe, Don “Ducky” (Irene), Cathy, Tim, Jane Desaulniers (Rene), also 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her infant daughter, Dorothy and her sister, Veronica.

The funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 11 am.

Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne Street Campbellton, Monday from, 7pm to 9pm.

Donations to a charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
