I first met Mrs Jenkins at the funeral home when she came to give her condolences to my family when my mother, Eleanor Chedore passed away in 2008. She and my mother had been best friends when they were children. Irene had arrived during a blizzard and told us wonderful stories about our mother and their friendship. She had so much energy and was a force of nature that no blizzard could stop. Later, she contacted my cousin, Debbie Maisey and gave her a number of photos from when she and my mother were young. Our family had no photos of mom from that time so we were so grateful to Irene for sharing these with us. My sincere condolences for your loss of this wonderful woman.

I have such fond memories of travelling to Stratford to see a play, and going to Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake. Aunt Irene would always run into someone she knew and introduce me. I met people she knew from England, Australia and Northern Ontario!! Gail my thoughts are with you today and always your Mom will be missed!

Aunt Irene had such a long, full life, and her passing will leave a big hole. She said she would go out kicking and screaming, and I hope she did. I know you have many fond memories.
