Joyce Allison

May 31, 1926 - July 1, 2019

Mum passed peacefully on Monday, July 1st with Mary Kathryn and Jan Ferguson (niece) by her side.

Margaret Joyce (Lutes) Allison is survived by her three children Peggy Mabee (Toddy), Mary Kathryn Menzies (Robert) and Peter Allison (Debbie), grandchildren Stacey Sunderland (Ken), Jason Flanagan (Stephanie) and Susie Mabee, great grandchildren Braden, Azra and Cade Sunderland. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Allison, grandson Joshua Flanagan, siblings Rupert Lutes, Wilfred Lutes and Elizabeth (Beth) Ferguson.

Mum lived a full life, did her share to make the world a better place and left with no regrets. Mum was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a friend to many.

Dressed to the 9's, Mum was always up for a bridge game, a glass of white wine, dinner out, Thursday shopping days on the bus and, of course her Saturday night Happy Hours with her Bursey Tower friends.

She was a kind, thoughtful, caring, creative, compassionate person and an inspiration to so many people with her positive "can do" attitude.

Mum, your life here is complete and we will miss you, but your memory will live on forever. We take comfort in knowing that you are at peace, "Sheltered in the Arms of God".

A reception will be held on Saturday, July 6 from 2 - 4pm in the auditorium of the Village Nursing Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Village Nursing Home or to the charity of your choice.

Mary Catherine,

I just found out today (July 13/19) from John Hutchinson that your mother passed away.I was shocked to say the least...Your mother was special to me as she could have been my mother if the switch had been made in May 1951....hahaha....They were great friends over the past 90 years and subsequently got together every day when my mother moved to the Village. She sure enjoyed her visits and the paper....

Dear Peggy, Peter and Mary Kathryn.
I was so sorry to learn of your dear Mom’s passing. Joyce was always so kind to me and so much fun. We had the best laughs at choir practices at Knox.
She was beautiful “inside and out” and had a real grace about her.
Prayers and hugs to all of you and your families!
Maxine
