Born in New Denmark, NB on March 28, 1941, daughter of the late Leonard and Eunice (Jensen) Rasmussen.
She worked as an RNA for many years in Perth-Andover, Sackville, Miramichi and Dalhousie. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and preserve. She was an avid collector of McCoy Pottery, china and quilts. She loved visiting family all over the province.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Douthwright (Steven) of Tide Head, sons Kevin (Heidi) of Fredericton, Kyle of Fredericton, Danny (Sharon) of Saint John, her brothers Ralph Rasmussen of Salisbury and Howard of New Denmark, sisters Marilyn Andersen (Barry) of Moncton, Darlene Goodine (Gerald) of Sisson Ridge, Lorna (Benny) of New Maryland, seven cherished grandchildren, Ashley (Oliver), Caylin, Megan, Adam, Alex, Jordan (Brittany), and Tomas, three adored great-grandchildren, Ben, Charlotte and Abigail as well as many nieces and nephews. Joyce was pre-deceased by her long time friend George Williamson.
Funeral Service will be held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, Friday at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at the Chapel. To assist the service, please call the office at 506-789-1699 to register.
