Laura Lavoie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura (Christie) Lavoie of Dalhousie, NB, who passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on July 15, 2025, at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of the late Germain Lavoie.

Laura was born in Bathurst and dedicated over 40 years to public service, retiring from the ICI Chemical Plant in 2001. Known for her kind spirit and generosity, she loved knitting, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with her family. A devoted member of her community, she was a singer with Harmony Inc./Chaleur Echoes for 43 years, and a devoted parishioner of St. John Bosco Church for 25 years.

She is survived by her children Danica (Martin Durand) and Pierre (Tiffany), her grandchildren Zoë and Alexander, her sister Deanna, brothers Burman and Ken Jr., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Linda and Erven.

A Funeral Mass in celebration of Laura’s life will be held at St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on Thursday, July 24 at 3:00 p.m.

C'est avec le coeur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Laura (Christie) Lavoie de Dalhousie, N.-B., qui est décédée paisiblement à l'Hôpital régional Chaleur le 15 juillet 2025, à l'âge de 90 ans. Elle était l'épouse bien-aimée de feu Germain Lavoie.

Laura est née à Bathurst et a consacré plus de 40 ans à la fonction publique, prenant sa retraite de l'usine chimique ICI en 2001. Reconnue pour sa gentillesse et sa générosité, elle aimait tricoter, jouer aux cartes et, surtout, passer du temps avec sa famille. Membre dévouée de sa communauté, elle a été chanteuse pour Harmony Inc./Chaleur Echoes pendant 43 ans et paroissienne dévouée de l'église Saint-Jean Bosco pendant 25 ans.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Danica (Martin Durand) et Pierre (Tiffany), ses petits-enfants Zoë et Alexander, sa sœur Deanna, ses frères Burman et Ken Jr, ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces. Ses frères Linda et Erven l'ont précédée dans la mort.

Une messe de funérailles célébrant la vie de Laura aura lieu à l'église St. John Bosco de Dalhousie le jeudi 24 juillet à 15 h.
