Merle Newell

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Mr. Merle Newell on December 22, 2018 at the age of 77.

Born in Campbellton on March 30, 1941, he was the son of the late Charles Austin Newell and late Margaret Elizabeth Ross.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Gerry, Austin and infant brother Dasil, sisters Doreen, Glenora and Marlene. He leaves to mourn his sons Steven (Lori) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jamie (Tina) of Campbellton, his grandson Anthony Newell of Dalhousie and his granddaughter Anjulie Newell of Dalhousie. He also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at First United Church in Campbellton on Friday December 28th at 11 am.

Visitations will be held at Maher's Funeral Home on Thursday December 27th from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm, and on Friday morning at the Church from 10 am until time of funeral. Burial will be in the Campbellton Rural Cemetery in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the heart and stroke foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
