Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 23th, 2019 at the age of 82, Nelson McGrath of Campbellton, son of the late George Ernest McGrath (Newcastle) and Alice Lorena Keith (Havelock, N.B.)
Nelson worked for the Campbellton detachment of the RCMP and in later years at the Campbellton Curling Club. He was an accomplished bowler, tennis and badminton player and an avid sports fan all of his life.
He is survived by his siblings, Dorothy Stewart (Bill), Edith (Peekie) Nolan (late Jack), Pat McGrath (Gert) and Ann (Tookie) Walker of Harrison, New Jersey as well as his nieces and nephews - Nancy Coffin (Dan) PEI, Doug Stewart (Donna) Moncton, Susan Downs (Donald) Campbellton, Ellen Stewart (Moncton), Barb Gayton (Doug) Moncton, Pat McGrath (Denise) Toronto, Maureen Delaney (David), Halifax, Margaret Taugher (Art) Kingston, Ont and grandnieces Lesley Downs (Jeff Decker)Halifax, NS, Katie Beck (Rory)PEI,
Elizabeth and Kathleen Taugher, Samantha Delaney (Halifax), grandnephews Devin Coffin (Jennifer) PEI, Michael Coffin (Kristi) Moncton, Jock Downs (Moncton), Nick Downs (Campbellton), Craig Gayton Moncton) and Max Delaney (Halifax).
Funeral Service will be held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, Monday at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of funeral at the Chapel.
Donations to Campbellton Village Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
