

Born on September 10th, 1939 in Charlo, New Brunswick, he was the youngest son of the late John Raymond MacNair and Jean Miller MacNair (nee Hamilton) and husband of the late Irma MacNair (nee Harris).
Raymond is survived by his loving son Dale MacNair of Bath, Ontario; daughter Beverly Hamilton of Charlo, New Brunswick; siblings James MacNair (late Marsha) and Carl MacNair (Faye), sisters-in-law Elaine Sharpe (late Wendall), Reta Hilts (late Terry), Lois Mann (late Lorne), brothers-in-law Don Harris (Lois), late Murray Harris (Jane). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Retired Public Servant as a Federal Fishery Officer with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. During his career, he received several awards and recognitions including Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee Medal. He was a wonderful man who was loved, admired, and respected by his family, his friends, and the community. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping with his dad and brothers Jim and Carl. He enjoyed coaching hockey and loved working in his workshop tackling new projects and making items for friends and family. Raymond will be remembered for his signature snowshoes spread from coast to coast to coast. He was a long-time serving elder and clerk of session of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Dalhousie, New Brunswick.
The MacNair family wishes to especially acknowledge the professional and compassionate care given to our dad by Dr. L. Bujold, the medical team, and the staff of the Villa Renaissance.
A funeral service will be held at the Anglican Christ Church, 6 Aberdeen Street, Campbellton, NB on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gordon Thompson officiating.
The interment will take place in the Dalhousie Riverview Cemetery extension of New Mills, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
