

Following a strenuous battle with cancer, Mr. Roderick "Jerry" Wysote, 75, of Listuguj First Nation, passed away on February 10th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
Jerry was born on September 25, 1950 in Campbellton, NB to the late
Barthelemy Wysote and the late Dora Mae Martin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen; children: Stephanie (Clinton) Huber, and Nadia (Bradley) Wysote; grandchildren: Mila Huber and Mackenzie Huber; fur grandchildren: Auntie Wastew and Te'pisewei. He is also survived by his siblings Randy (Donna Jean) Wysote, Murray (Dolly) Wysote, Debra (Gary) Metallic, Joyce (Manfred "Koshe") Wysote, Pauline Wysote, Charlene Wysote, Pernell (Claudia) Wysote; sister in law: Donna (Phillip) Wysote, and his many nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Herman Wysote, and Phillip Wysote.
Jerry was hardworking and contributed to many community initiatives. He served as Chief of Listuguj from 1984-1986 and served as a councillor for countless years where he helped give life to many projects. Aside from his political contributions, he was proud to support the Listuguj Pow Wow every year. Wysote's Corner Store is where he spent most of his time, keeping the business running and having coffee and donuts with friends almost every morning.
Amongst the places he liked to travel, Daytona Beach Shores became his second home. Jerry enjoyed making friends during his travels and hosting familiar faces from home. He will be greatly missed by the many people that knew and loved him.
