Richard Harold Affolter

Rich graduated from Canton Central Catholic High School, Class of 1971. He then continued his education at Walsh College as a math major. He graduated from Walsh in 1976. One week after graduation, he married Theresa. They celebrated 47 years of happiness May 15, 2023. Through the years they were always together. Rich was employed by United Parcel Service, retiring in 2009 after 35 years as a delivery man. He was known for his "Good Morning!" greeting.

Rich was a good, loving, hard working man. He loved his family. He enjoyed remodeling his house, vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains and the Outer Banks, and most importantly being with his family. He thoroughly enjoyed his nine grandchildren. He was extremely proud of his five sons and of the terrific men they have turned out to be.

Rich is survived by his wife, Theresa (Dyer); his five sons and their spouses, Richard (Samantha), John (Lydia), David (Erica), Michael (Leah), and James (Sabrina); nine grandchildren (Kylee, Layla, Chloe, Addison, Michael, Abigail, Lucy, Caleb, and Richard); sisters, Charlotte Lones and Debbie Tennant; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Alice (Haren) Affolter.

A visitation for Richard will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, Ohio 44718, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff (4th Floor) at Mercy Medical Center, Mercy Hospice, and Marie for the attention, care, and listening they did. We appreciate everything you did for us.
