Born in Dallas, Texas, in 1967 to Victor Ray Rodriguez and Dolores Faye Rodriguez (Nanny), Alesia was proud of her Native American heritage as a quarter Choctaw. She was a proud 1985 graduate of Skyline High School, where she formed a lifelong friendship with her high school best friend, Julie Padilla.
Throughout her career, Alesia brought dedication and heart to everything she did. She worked with Dillard's Warehouse, Dallas Memorial Hospital, Dallas Independent School District (DISD), and in Home Health Care. Along the way, she gained a cherished "work sister" and dear friend, Angie Hernandez.
Alesia was married to Joe Lozano in 1988 until his passing in 1990. In 1997, she married Antonio "Tony" Lizalde Jr. Together, they shared 29 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and family.
Alesia had a vibrant spirit and loved life’s simple pleasures. She could often be found listening and dancing to Tejano music, relaxing with her favorite Danielle Steel novels, or pampering herself while doing her hair and nails. She had a tender heart spending time making homemade dog treats, and above all, she cherished every opportunity to gather at family functions.
Alesia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her legacy lives on through her beloved children: her daughters Julie Marie Lozano (Javier Varela) and Elida Laura Lizalde (Santana Calderon)her son Antonio Lizalde III; and her stepson Michael Adrian Lizalde. She was a proud Nana to her two precious grandchildren, Javier Francisco Valera Jr. ("JJ") and Caleb Michael Lizalde.
She is survived by her loving husband, Antonio; her two younger brothers, Tommy Ray Rodriguez and John Carlos Rodriguez Sr. (Gracie Rodriguez); her living aunt, Antonia Susie Maldonado; her nieces Mia Grace Lozano, Alexis Michelle Rodriguez, Sara Marie Rodriguez, and Emily Cruz; her nephews John Carlos Rodriguez Jr. and Nathen Cruz; as well as a large circle of extended family, including many dear cousins and the Shoemaker family.
Alesia was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Dolores Rodriguez; her first husband, Joe Lozano; and her aunts Lavera Marquez, Marylou Duran, Rebecca Saucedo, and Sylvia Cantu.
Alesia’s warmth, joyful spirit, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
