Anfernee Jamaal Baker, affectionately known as "Amp" or "AJ", is now peacefully in Heaven. Born on June 17, 1995, in Forrest City, Arkansas, Anfernee found his perfect spot with the Lord on August 11, 2020, at age 25. He was a 2013 graduate of Creekview High School in Carrollton, and loved basketball, music and being a free spirit.
Our beloved son, brother, cousin, boyfriend, and friend touched the heart of every person he came across. He is the strongest and most thoughtful, resilient, determined, and creatively bold person that we were all so blessed to have in our lives. His joyful spirit, driven mind, passion for music, humble heart, and contagious laugh will be with us forever. He accomplished endless goals that will still be celebrated each and every day.
Anfernee is survived by his parents: Verlin and Ann Ward; sister: MaTyia Ward and partner Matthew Finchum; Brother: Travorous Ward; Sister: Raven Baker; Brother: Jordan Baker; and “his person”: Aleah Tea. He also leaves a hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to name.
A memorial service will be held at 6PM until sundown on Monday, August 17th, at GreenVue Apartments, 1350 N. Greenville Ave. Richardson, TX. Please wear red, his favorite color, or black/white to the memorial service. We encourage you to bring your own red balloon(s) if you would like to participate in the balloon release. Let's continue to pray for one another as we celebrate the wonderful life of our amazing Anfernee “Amp” Baker.
