Born Beth Ajeanne Evans in Poyen, Arkansas on October 14, 1928 to Frank Lester Evans and Beulah Hope Evans, she grew up in Overton, Texas and later graduated from Overton High School. She attended Kilgore College and later attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of the Gamma Omicron chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa academic fraternity.

Beth Ajeanne met her future husband Ted at S.M.U., and they were married on February 4, 1951. They settled in Dallas where they opened a gift shop that they operated for a period of two years. As time progressed, they would live in Colorado, Illinois, Texas and Hawaii, raising two sons along the way. In 1985, Beth Ajeanne and Ted moved to Munich, Germany for Ted’s job with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). During those four years, they would see much of both Western and Eastern Europe. Upon their return to the United States, they would later take a trip to visit mainland China.

Beth Ajeanne worked briefly as a secretary but really enjoyed her years being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was an avid bridge player, a great cook and a wonderful hostess. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Beth Ajeanne was very active in the Presbyterian and Bible Churches, and she devoted much of her time assisting Christian missionaries throughout the world with correspondence and financial support.
