Cathy Parris

Cathy Paugh Parris passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015, after battling a series of illnesses. She was born on January 9, 1964. She was 51. She is survived by her husband, Richard Parris; father, Jim Paugh; stepmother, Vicky Paugh; brothers, John, Jim, James, and JR; sister Caroline; nephews, Jake, Hunter, Tripp and TJ; niece, Mikki; aunt and uncle, Judy and Gary Rusnak and six cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Judy Paugh. After graduating from Wagner High School at Clark Air Base, Philippines, she moved back to Columbia, before eventually moving to Dallas where she spent her adult life with her loving husband, Ricky. While short in stature, she lived a big life and touched all those who knew her very deeply. She collected Barbie's and loved her dogs. Her laugh was infectious and you couldn't help but laugh when you were with her. Everyone who knew her all agreed they came away as better people because of her. Even battling sometimes debilitating illnesses throughout most of her adult life didn’t distract her from bringing joy to those around her. Her optimism and good nature was, and is, what will be her lasting legacy. She loved her family and will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate to know her. Her family asks for privacy while mourning and celebrating her life. A Memorial Service will be held at Metrocrest Funeral Home on Thursday September 24, 2015 from 1:30 – 3:00 pm.
