Charles served his country with steady integrity, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Airforce and completing 21 years of service. In a second chapter of dedicated work, he spent 25 years with Richardson Aviation as a corporate pilot, earning trust through a reputation for doing things the right way and keeping his word.
In 1960, Charles married Jane Bond, and together they welcomed three children. In the years that followed, Charles found his greatest pride in the people he loved, showing up with a consistent, straightforward devotion that spoke louder than any grand gesture.
Charles’s days were often marked by the simple pleasures he enjoyed most—time on the water fishing, rounds of golf, and the familiar rhythms of the seasons as he watched Texas Rangers baseball and Cowboys football. He also kept close to his Kentucky roots, cheering on Kentucky basketball, and he valued nothing more than time spent with family.
Charles is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melanie Bond; his father, Claiborne Bond; his mother, Allene Bond; and his great grandson, Ashton Wages.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jane Bond; his son, Calvin Bond; his daughter, Catherine Tomlinson; his son, David Bond; and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
