Charles Herbert Fink entered into heaven on April 1, 2016 at age 87. He was born January 2, 1929 in El Dorado, Kansas to Edwin Eugene and Rose Lucy McKinney Fink. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Katherine Massingill Fink; son and wife, Larry and Sally Fink of Renton, WA; daughter and husband, Shirley and Scott Grigsby of Carrollton, TX; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Charles spent the first ten years of his life in Kansas during the Great Depression, then lived in Sherman, Texas, until age 15 when the family moved to Beaumont where Charles graduated near the top of his high school class in 1946. He then graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1950 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an Engineering specialization. The same month as his graduation, Charles began his first career job with General Electric and met his future wife, Kathy, whom he married later that year on December 4, 1950. GE transferred him to Oklahoma City in 1957 where the Charles became a Deacon of St. Francis Presbyterian Church and the young couple was very active while raising their two children. GE eventually moved Charles to Dallas, where he spent the rest of his days after retiring early due to disability. Despite his lifelong battle with the daily challenge of migraine headaches, Charles remained full of faith, grateful for family and life. He was tremendously dedicated to and in love with his wife and very proud of his children, grandchildren and their spouses. All who knew him noted his gentleness, courtesy and integrity, which blossomed from his faith and characterized him to the end.
