Mike, as he was fondly known, lived his life with a strong work ethic and ensured his three sons had opportunities to be successful. He was always willing to share what he had and generously assisted those he loved. A commonality among numerous family members was an incredible affection for the past and present ‘Hanchey tribe’ of beloved schnauzers.
Mike had a diverse career that spanned various Auto Body Shops, forty years in the Tool Business and finally Golf Instructor, a role he thoroughly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and expertise. He was a golf historian, a student himself, fierce competitor and loved the honor of the game.
A fan of all sports, Mike enjoyed playing and watching games, with a particular focused interest on baseball and golf. Growing up, he dreamt of being a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants and later in his life, playing pro golf on the Senior Tour.
Mike attended Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas. He found prayerful solace in worship of the Lord, enjoyed opportunities to share the gospel and cherished the brotherly fellowship of Men’s Bible study groups.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; loyal pal, Sir Jaxxon Waggin; sons, Jason Michael Hanchey & wife Bonnie of Killeen, Texas; Heath Allen Hanchey & Christopher Michael Hanchey of Chandler, Arizona; brother, Mark Alan Hanchey & wife Yohanna of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; sister Kathleen Lynn Amanti & husband Mike of Eminence, Missouri; and six grandchildren - Cayden Taylor, Gabriel Thane, Darren Michael, Caitlin Marie, Polaris Vega & Rigel Thorin. Mike is preceded in death by his father, Charles Perry Hanchey; mother, Fern Goforth Hunt; brother, Perry Mitchell Hanchey & grandson, Evan Michael Hanchey.
