Cody was born in Fort Worth, TX on March 30, 2003. He spent much of his first year at Cook Children’s Hospital. He came so far in life against the prediction of many. Early on in his life, he was only able to eat through a tube and ride in a wheelchair. He had many surgeries, doctor’s appointments, and years of therapy. He was a fighter for sure. He had such a love for life, and the sweetest spirit, despite his circumstances.
Services: Due to current pandemic restrictions, Cody's service will be closed to the public. Please join us virtually for his funeral service on the church Facebook page: Southside Church of Christ, where the service will be live-streamed.
Cody enjoyed being a part of the Miracle League baseball team and Special Olympics. With the help of his older brother he was able to experience the joy of playing sports with other people. He also had a passion for music and enjoyed participating in worship services and Bible class, especially when it involved singing.
He was a Senior at Western Hills High School, where he enjoyed attending school, riding the bus, and being with his friends.
Most recently in 2019 he was able to take the trip of a lifetime through the Make-A-Wish Foundation to Disney World along with an older brother and his parents.
Cody loved to give hugs, high fives, and fist bumps. He absolutely loved music and had a signature dance move he would always do when he liked a song. He loved kicking his ball around the house. He always got so much joy from seeing other people have a good time, even if he couldn’t or didn’t feel like joining in.
Cody just loved to sit and observe people. He loved to hug and cuddle with his Mom as often as he could, and loved to sit by the window and watch for his Dad to come home from work. He loved anything that made a loud noise, the louder the better. And no one can forget his adorable, infectious smile!
Cody’s life was truly a miracle. He passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020. May the joy he had continue to inspire those who knew him.
