

Daniel Frederick Ball a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away on July 17, 2023, at the age of 71 ending his long fight with prostate cancer, surrounded by his loved ones. His departure has left an indelible void in the hearts of those who knew him and an enduring legacy for generations to come.
Born on July 19, 1951, at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. He was a strong-willed man with an exceptional character and unwavering integrity. Throughout his life, he had a strong compassion for animals of all kinds. Coming from his time in the United States Air Force where he made the most of everything he learned. In his later years, he exemplified the virtues of kindness, compassion, and selflessness, touching the lives of his family with his gentle spirit and warm smile.
Dan enjoyed working with his hands and was an accomplished cabinet maker and craftsmen. He occasionally tinkered with old cars…like his beloved “Plum Crazy Purple 1968 Charger.” Dan later became an avid hobbyist in stamp collecting. He loved the outdoors, and simply savoring the beauty of nature. He found solace and happiness in life's simple pleasures. But don’t be fooled by his sweet smile and quiet nature, he was a CARD SHARK, and could beat anyone at a game of Pinochle, Gin, and Spades.
Dan Ball is survived by his loving and devoted wife Katherine Ball, his children, Daniel Ball, Carmen Socha, and Victoria Gaerlan, and his three grandchildren, Asher Gaerlan, Beckett Gaerlan and Andrew Socha. He also has three brothers Doug Ball, Dale Ball and Dean Ball with one sister Janice Grant and his predeceased parents John and Betty Ball.
A memorial service to honor the life of Dan Ball will be held on August 18 at 10am at DFW National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to pay their final respects and share fond memories.
