Darroll was born on April 12, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to Darroll G. Mathews and Etta Mae McBride. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife of 47 years, Nancy J. Mathews.
He is survived by his daughters, Torrie Arnold and husband Kevin, Kacey Green and husband Chris, and Julie Moore and husband Jason; and his nine cherished grandchildren: Loiralye, Laney, Levi, Liam, Logan, Kelsie, Jacob, Jackson, and Jaclyn.
Darroll was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather whose life was centered around his faith, his family, and his love of music. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing guitar and bass and singing, often sharing his musical gifts alongside Nancy.
His faith in God was the foundation of his life. Darroll loved the Lord deeply and knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Texas, with an intimate graveside service for family immediately following.
Darroll’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
