Deborah Allyson Cole, 55, died Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her home in Irving, Texas from complications surrounding her metastatic breast cancer.

Deborah was born October 16, 1963 at a Naval Base in Kittery, Maine to Lt. Col. Keith Hampton Cole and Mrs. Velma Cole. She is survived by her parents, brother (Keith H. Cole II), her two children John Christopher (22yrs) and Jessica Christine (19yrs), and her two nieces, Caroline and Claire Cole.

Deborah moved several times during her younger years, but the family settled in Dallas in 1978 when she was in the eighth grade. She graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in 1982. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Having a deep desire to help others, Deborah was accepted into Fuller Theological’s Masters and PhD program in 1986, and she received her PhD in psychology in 1994.

She loved to cook and bake had the greatest passion for animals and Disney. A mainstay at Christmastime was her Great Grandmother’s cardamom bread and carrot soufflé at Thanksgiving. Being an animal lover through-and-through, she also found joy and comfort in her pets and was known for her love of birds. Deborah was a loving aunt who never forgot a birthday and enjoyed spending time playing games with her nieces. Time with family was important to her, and she always enjoyed celebrating holidays and special occasions with them.

Deborah had a deep relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and never questioned God’s plan for her life and the trials she was enduring. Her strength and perseverance were a testament to her enduring faith. We will never forget what an incredible, strong, beautiful, compassionate, kind, helpful, generous, godly, and protective woman she was. She did so much for her children, to protect them and provide the absolute best for them. Deborah Allyson Cole will forever be a most cherished mother, sister, daughter, friend, aunt, and most importantly, child of God.
