Donald Stuart Shirk, Sr was born 5/15/38 to Robert and Alice Shirk in Cleveland, Ohio. He started his career at Cleveland Electric and Illuminating Company in Cleveland in 1956, later moving to Fanner Manufacturing in 1966 as a factory demonstrator. Fanner moved him to Dallas in 1968. Don joined the T.F. Sears Company in 1973 as a manufacturer’s representative. TF Sears company became USANTX in the early mid 1990s and continues on today.
Don is survived by wife of 62 years, Laura, sons Don and Andy, brother Dick, and grandsons John and Chris
He had a lust for life and enjoyed may hobbies throughout. Cowboying, tennis, skiing, Jeeping, fishing and hiking, motorcycles and cars, shooting and guns, cowboy shooting.
He was beloved by his family, customers, many friends, or anyone he happened to meet. He was a true people person and he will be missed.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March, 18 at 11:00 at St. Francis Anglican Church in Dallas, 3838 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75229.
