Eva Smith

Eva Luise Luitgard Bering Smith, age 83, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2025. Born on July 6, 1942, in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, she was the daughter of Rudolf Bering and Bertha Bauer, both from Germany. Eva’s grandparents were Georg and Christine Bering and Karl and Ceuta Bauer.

Eva married Lester Howard Smith on October 1, 1966, in Warsaw, Indiana, and they welcomed two sons, Christopher Walter Smith and Tyson Lester Smith. Following their divorce around 1982, Eva raise her sons while living in Carrollton, Texas, where she remained until her passing. She was a devoted friend, who would selflessly offer her support to anyone in need and warmly welcome all into her home, embodying a fierce spirit that captivated those around her.

She is survived by her two sons and three beloved grandchildren: Colton Bering Smith and Gwendolyn Eve Smith, children of Christopher, and Adalynne Ann Smith, daughter of Tyson. Eva cherished the moments she shared with her children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on October 29, 2025, at 10 AM at Metrocrest Funeral Home & Hilltop Memorial Park, located at 1810 N. Perry Rd., Carrollton, TX 75006. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering Eva’s life and sharing cherished memories.
