

Janice Elaine Flint Ross was born to Howard and Josephine Flint in Miller, South Dakota on October 10, 1955. She was the last of 5 children born to the couple. She passed away in Carrollton, Texas on February 8, 2023.
Jan grew up in Miller and upon graduating in 1973, she attended Huron College in Huron, South Dakota. She graduated from Huron College with a BA in English in 1977. Upon graduation, she immediately moved to the Dallas, Texas area where she spent the rest of her life.
Jan spent her entire career in Information Technology (IT) filling roles such as technical writer, programmer, systems analyst, and database designer/administrator. She retired from Transamerica in November, 2019. Jan loved to sew and made many quilts.
She was an avid reader, card player, and never missed an episode of “Days of our Lives”. She traveled with her family each summer and they visited 45 of the 50 United States. She was a loving mother and never missed any of her children’s games and events as they grew up.
Jan was preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard Flint and Josephine Oehler Flint, by two of her siblings, Steve Vernon Flint and Bruce Howard Flint and by her first spouse, David Lowell Ross. Jan is survived by her children Jessica Jean Ross and Michael David Ross, her granddaughter Lillian Mae Ross, her brother Bryce Flint, her sister Jean Flint Plummer, and over 150 extended family members.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, 12:00 noon, at the Bluebird Cottage, 3711 FM 1461, McKinney, Texas 75071.
Sometime in the future her cremated remains will be interred in the IOOF Cemetery in Miller, South Dakota alongside her parents and brother.
