Born August 29th, 1925 in Great Falls, Montana to Henry S. & Nira B. Faulkner. Jack passed away on August 7th, 2014, in Dallas, TX at the age of 88. Jack was a life-long resident of Oklahoma City, OK. and Richardson, TX. He graduated from Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Business. During World War II, Jack proudly served our country in Company E, 397th Infantry in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns from December 1943 to February 1946. He was a scout for his battalion advancing against fortified enemy positions. Jack was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Oak Leaf Cluster for deliberately exposing himself to enemy fire to allow his platoon to advance, and for returning through enemy lines, eight injured members of his platoon. He also served as a personal bodyguard to his company commander. He received the Purple Heart Medal for injuries he obtained during these actions. After the war’s end, Jack was awarded two more Bronze Stars, the last being pinned by the Honorable Sam Johnson, of the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1950 he married his college sweetheart, Thecia Prescott. That same year, he joined the 100th Division (Thunderbirds) of the Army Reserves. He worked as a real estate appraiser and investment manager for Prudential for over 30 years, and retired as the General Manager of Real Estate Operations in Dallas. In August 1985, he retired from the Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. Thecia passed away in 1987. Jack met his new love, Doris Simmons, and they were married in 1993. Jack was an avid photographer and president of both the Oklahoma City and Richardson Camera Clubs. He received numerous awards for his photography in national and international competitions. Jack enjoyed his second home in Taos, New Mexico, which he built. He was a skilled craftsman. In 2013 he attended the World War II Veteran’s Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. He is survived by his wife Doris, his daughters &their husbands, Cindy & Don Cummins, Linda & Sid Stengel, Margaret & Mike Parry, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his brother Bill Faulkner & wife LeVeda, and sister Jan McKenzie. Rosary and visitation will be on Monday, August, 11th at 12:30 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richardson, followed by a 1:30 Funeral Mass and burial at Restland Cemetery.
