Kenneth Arnold Kokel

Kenneth was born in Temple, Texas on 20 April 1941 to Amanda and Arnold Kokel. He graduated from Troy High School and continued his secondary education at the University of Texas. Kenneth was married to Janell on 18 September 1965; they were married 59 years.

Kenneth worked as a Financial Examiner for the State of Texas for 30 years. He continued contracting as an examiner for several years after retiring from the state. He enjoyed woodworking and watching football on TV. He was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Texas and served as church treasurer and as an elder for many years. The monthly Careciples Bible Study/church social group and the Men’s Bible Studies were vital in nourishing the foundation of his faith and peace.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Amanda and Arnold Kokel and his sister, Janice Schwartz.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Janell; sons, David and Timothy; daughter, Rebecca O’Connor (Jerry); grandchildren, Mariah (Jordan), Benjamin (Ashley), Shelby, Kayla, and Abby; and great-grandchild, Lia.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for 12 July 2025, 11 am, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4000 Midway Rd, Carrollton, Texas.
