

Luis was born in Nueva Esparta, El Salvador, on December 5, 1949, to Tina Acosta and Juan Acosta. He later became a skilled Air Conditioning Technician, a trade he carried with pride throughout his life. Luis married Josefina Ismari Acosta on April 4, 2001, and they shared 25 years of marriage together.
Luis was retired at the time of his passing. A devoted and faithful man of God, he loved serving his church community. He faithfully taught children’s Sabbath School and served as a deacon at the Lewisville Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church. His faith was the foundation of his life.
Luis enjoyed walking outdoors, embracing nature, and living a healthy lifestyle. He was health conscious and disciplined, always striving to care for his body and spirit. Those who knew him described him as el hombre ideal, an ideal man, reflecting his character, integrity, and devotion to his family and faith.
Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Tina Acosta and Juan Acosta; his sister, Reina Acosta; and his brothers, Juan Acosta, Jose Hirzan Acosta, and Elmer Acosta.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Josefina Ismari Acosta; his son, Juan Luis Acosta and his wife Angela Acosta; his grandchildren, Sonia Houston, Armando Acosta, and Aaliyah Acosta; his great grandson, Rowan Houston; his sister, Ethel Acosta Castro; his brother, Carlos Acosta; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on February 11, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A second visitation is scheduled for February 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Metrocrest Funeral Home, located at 1810 N Perry Rd, Carrollton, Texas 75006. The funeral service will take place on February 12, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Hilltop Memorial Park, also located at 1810 N Perry Rd, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
