Your middle name is Elvia, after my mom (the lady singing in this photo). You always looked forward to her calling to pray with you.
Heaven rejoiced, and angels celebrated the day you gave your life to Jesus on 2/21/26.

This was at the NW 7th Street house.  We have Sandra,  Aida, Luisito, Tia Gloria, Tio Chino, Mayi and me.

For 35 years, we walked an unexpected path—two women bound by circumstance, who chose something deeper than rivalry, something stronger than resentment. What began as a complicated connection became one of the most meaningful relationships of my life.

You were more than a part of my story—you became my sister.

We shared secrets that only trust could hold, laughed in moments others wouldn’t understand, and cried through the kind of pain that only we knew how to comfort in each other. Ours was not a simple bond, but it was a real one—honest, enduring, and full of grace.

Through the years, we found a way to stand beside each other, not in competition, but in compassion. That kind of love, that kind of friendship, is rare. And I will always be grateful that we chose it.

I will carry your voice in my memories, your laughter in my heart, and the quiet understanding we shared in all the spaces where words were never needed.

Oscar, our hearts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. In the three years you and Marilyn shared together, it was clear to all of us that your love was something special. She always spoke of you as her “ride or die,” and the bond you two had was full of genuine love, loyalty, and beautiful memories. We had the true pleasure of getting to know her, and she brought such a warm, beautiful spirit into our lives. She fit right in with our family, and our holiday gatherings were brighter and more joyful because she was there with us. Marilyn was truly a beautiful soul, and she will always be remembered with love. We know how deeply you loved her, and how deeply she loved you.

We take comfort in knowing that God has called her home, where she is now at peace, free from pain, and resting in His loving arms.

Marilyn thank you for coming into my uncles life and being a loving partner. I’ve never seen my uncle so in love. You made him grow more as a person. You both are caring loving people that will do anything for someone you love and that’s what made yall each others perfect match. Yall share beautiful memories together and my family always enjoyed you around. I am thankful for the love and joy you showed my son and I. I can hear you now saying oh mija you are so sweet and I would say so are you beautiful. We love you 😍 forever in our hearts
