Millie was active in sports and played on the high school basketball team. She graduated from Litton High School in 1953 and remained in the Nashville area to work. In 1954 Millie and Woody Fowler were married and in 1955 Woody joined the Army. Upon completion of training, Millie and Woody were assigned to Germany. Their twin girls, Diana and Marie, were born while in Wiesbaden. Upon returning to the states, Millie and Woody had their son, Dwain, in Nashville.
Millie eventually moved to Dallas, Texas in 1969. She worked at Eastman Kodak for 20 years and was able to retire at the amazing age of 56.
Millie loved her family, friends and music. She also loved her church, First Methodist Church in Irving. She would meet friends for lunch every week and get her hair done every Thursday. She enjoyed life with a great attitude, a positive outlook and a big smile.
Millie is preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Lynn Sheffer, her ex-husband, Woody Fowler, her brother, Russell Richardson, and her parents, Comer and Virgie Conwell Richardson.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Diana and her husband, Gary Dunn, her son, Dwain Fowler and his wife, Serife. She is Grandma to six grandchildren: Lindsey, Meredith, Erin, Evrim, Timothy and Stefanie. She is a proud Gigi to nine great-grandchildren: Jett, Harper Joy, Olive, Eleanor, William, Amelia, Gavin, Bently and Emily. She is also survived by her sweet sister-in-law, Jackie Richardson, her niece, Carol Richardson Walton and her nephew, Hunter Mac Richardson.
Millie’s memorial will be held at Irving Bible Church on April 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers you may donate to First Methodist Church, Irvingfirst.org. Also, Millie loved animals and had raised two rescue dogs, Nick and Buster. You may donate to the ASPCA, aspca.org.
