

Nicky was born and raised in Victoria, Texas and graduated in 1975 from Victoria High School. An artist from an early age, Nick’s artistic ability was evident in grade school. Painting, drawing and photography continued to be avenues of expression and later his lifelong career. He attended both the University of Texas and Victoria Junior College then graduated from East Texas State University with a double major in both Photography and Advertising Design.
His move to Dallas after graduating college launched an illustrious career in both the fashion and beauty industries. Known for an “eye” for design, he enjoyed many creative professional advancements enabling his creative gifts to flourish. He was Creative Director for BeautiControl Cosmetics, Neiman-Marcus, where he played a significant role in launching their online presence, New York Life Insurance and enjoyed various roles with The Horchow Collection.
After retiring from corporate America, Nick continue to expand his skills and entrepreneur interest including his Design and Creative services, Estate Sale business and being a content creator.
Earning his Master Gardener qualification from the Dallas County A&M Ag Extension office was a proud moment and showcased his lifelong love of plants. He was always enhancing his yard and explored ways to create his outdoor oasis and gardens.
In addition to his love of plants, his life was filled with loving pet companions including German Shepherds, a Basenji, a Siamese Cat or two, an African Grey and Mynah bird, and many rescues including at least one Rabbit saved from a photo shoot. And, his current loving pets, Denver and Dallas his Min Pin brothers, who were with him at the end.
Life-long friendships were important to Nick and a testament to his capacity to care and share by opening his home to al fresco dinners and gatherings with music, lovely prepared meals and festive conversations.
Nick lived being true to his unique, multilayered essence. He made a lasting impression on friends and family who were stunned by his unexpected passing of natural causes. He was managing an Afib condition which likely contributed.
The family and friends that loved Nick will honor him with several life celebrations in the upcoming months. He is preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Velma Moore. Survived by family members: Judy Moore, Rebecca Shelton, Bunny Kensinger, Chevis Shelton, Shaun Shelton, Julieann Bittersmann, Amberly Ward, Troy Kensinger, Claudia Maddox, Dennis Ralls, and his life-long best friends who he often referred to as his brothers: Jay Narey, Jim Martin and Richard Schlossberg.
