Patricia Ann Williams

Pat was born in East Orange, NJ on March 3, 1943, to Gilbert Sr. and Mary Holt. She was raised and educated in East Orange and graduated in the Class of 1962 at East Orange High School, home of the Panthers. Pat was married to Lawyer A. Williams Jr. aka “LA,” on April 13, 1963. This loving union produced two sons, Lawyer A. Williams III aka “Al” and “DJ L.A.W.,” in 1963 and Kevin S. Williams in 1967.

Pat worked her entire career at the East Orange Municipal Court holding several positions with the last being Deputy Court Administrator. Church participation and praising Jesus were a constant part of her life at Mount Olive Baptist, Calvary Baptist and New Hope Baptist Church in East Orange. Pat was a long-time member of the choir, missionary and visitation ministries. She also served as a Deaconess at New Hope Baptist Church of East Orange since 2001. An active member of the Red Hat Society. Pat enjoyed loving on her family, bowling, spending time with friends, NY Giants football, traveling, visiting the casino, women’s basketball and uplifting others.

Pat and LA sold the family home and left East Orange in 2022 and moved to Frisco, TX to be closer to Kevin and his family. Pat aka “Trish” enjoyed her time in Frisco making new friends and memories at the Overture senior community.

Pat is preceded in death by her oldest son, father, mother, sisters: Ruth Dones, Gwendolyn Holt, Elizabeth Smith, Barbara Scott, Norma Jean Holt; brothers: Gilbert “Pete” Holt Jr., Robert “Jack” Holt; nieces: Barbara “Barbie” Scott, Brenda Smith, Barbara Mayfield, Rashima Thomas; nephews: Dennis “Jerry” Holt, Roger “Buster” Smith; great nephews: Phillip Christmas.

Pat is survived by her youngest son, daughter-in-law Joy A. Williams, grandchildren Kevin S. Williams Jr. and his wife Amanda and Justice C. Williams and his wife Natalia and their daughter Lucia, family dog Koba, brother William Holt and his wife Gloria, sister M. Yvonne Shannon, nieces: Beverly Carter, Betty Creekmur, Linda Best, Yvette Salter, Yvonne Shannon, Amber Gaines, Anita Holt, Norma Favors-Costrello, Stephanie Thomas, Shakira Thomas; nephews: Walter “Alex” Scott, Robert Boisselle; great nieces: Ashley Salter; great nephews: Omar Holt; God children: Lynette Thompson, Nia Bennett, Eric Walker; best friends: Doris Walker Bennett and Shelia Miles Walker; and a long list of extended family, friends and associates.

Homegoing service for Pat will take place in East Orange at New Hope Baptist Church on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11:00AM. Interment immediately after at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to the American Heart Association.
