Paul Albert Comeau, age 59 of Carrollton, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016. He was born to the late Albert Luke Comeau and Arlene Mae Senna Comeau on July 23, 1956, in Fall River, MA. Paul graduated from Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, MA, in 1974, and subsequently attended Walsh University in Canton, OH, until Spring 1975. He worked a variety of jobs and continued to attend school until his enlistment in the United States Air Force in February 1977. After completing basic training at Lackland AFB in March 1977, he was assigned to Chanute AFB, IL, where he completed technical training as an aircraft mechanic. His first duty assignment was with the 436 Organizational Maintenance Squadron, Dover AFB, DE, as a C-5A Crew Chief. In 1984, Paul was awarded the Associate of Science, Aircraft Maintenance Technology degree from the Community College of the Air Force. By 1994, Paul had completed all requirements for and was issued his FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanics license. In 1995, Paul was promoted to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and was the division employee of the year. Paul was a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. During his time in the Air Force, Paul married and had two beautiful children; Andrea and Luc. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in April 1997, Paul went to work for American Airlines. Paul later earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. In September 2006, he joined his Southwest Airlines family as the Manager of Regulatory Compliance within the Technical Operations department. Paul was promoted to Senior Manager of Maintenance Program Compliance in 2011, and in January 2016, he was promoted again to Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs. During his time at Southwest Airlines, Paul was recognized on many occasions for his leadership and work ethic. Two such awards were the ‘Lead by Example’ award, and the ‘Make It Happen’ award. Paul met the love of his life, Liz, online when she resided in England. They first spoke on the phone in February 2006, and finally met in-person when Liz came to the United States for a visit in April 2006. While it was obvious during their lengthy, long-distance phone calls, text messages, instant messages and webcam calls, that they were falling in love, when the two actually met, their chemistry and love for one another was profound. They sealed-the-deal and were married on October 6, 2006. In 2010, Paul joined the Panther Creek H.O.G. Chapter in Allen, TX, where he served as a road captain and the Chapter Secretary and Treasurer. Paul’s passion was riding his Harley alongside his wife and with friends. He jumped at any opportunity to ride and lived each day to the fullest. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth (Liz) Susan Comeau of Carrollton; stepmother, Helga Comeau of Weeki Wachee, FL; daughter, Andrea Arlene Comeau, and son, Luc Paul Comeau of Trenton; stepdaughter, Brittany Ann Cross of Celina; stepsons, Andrew Colin Foreman of Addison, and Mark John Foreman of Richardson; brother, Peter James Comeau, sister-in-law, Charon Lee Comeau, and nephews, Aaron James and Ryan Michael Comeau all of Somerset, MA, and countless members of his extended families within Southwest Airlines and the Panther Creek H.O.G. Chapter. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening, June 1, from 7-9pm at Rhoton Funeral Home located at 1511 South 1-35 East, Carrollton, TX 75006.
