Richard Sternkopf (Dick), age 90, of Trophy Club TX, passed away on February 14, 2025.
Dick was born in Mount Vernon NY on July 6, 1934, to Josephine and Arno Sternkopf. He graduated from Edison High School and joined the Navy. He served during the Korean war. He was hired by IBM Corp as a Customer Engineer in New York City. He had many assignments in his 35 year career that eventually brought him to Texas. He was a wonderful Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, and Football, Little League and Basketball coach for the Shrub Oak NY Athletic Club where he served on the board.
Dick is preceded in death by his first wife Lillian, and his second wife Betty.
Dick is survived by his four sons - Richard (Marianne) of Washingtonville NY, Stephen of Plano TX, David of Dallas TX and Jon (Allison) of Peekskill NY, three grandsons Richard (Brianna), Daniel, Stephen, and two great grandchildren Bryce and Lily.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Metrocrest Funeral Home.
