I was just reminiscing about my days at TLCA and first person I thought of was Sally Masters(my mentor) I looked you up Sally and I’m so sad to see you have passed away. Misti I remember the days of Darius, Bishop and then baby Justine, grandmas prides. I’m truly sorry to hear such sad news, I lost my mom 2 1/2 yrs ago and my dad 1 yr ago. Do you remember our wild drive to Bossier City to the Casinos, your mom in my Mustang, you in Jennifer’s Mustang and Off we went. I will always cherish the time I was friends with your mom & you. Grandma was always so full of love and patience. She would always take time to talk to strangers and advise them, to smile at them, to smile at little babies she would see in Walmart; She impacted so many lives and she did so solely out of love for other people. Her kindness lives on in all the kids she raised, and even though she cant be here with us, her spirit is reflected in all of us who've felt her embrace, who have been encouraged and guided by her, and by all of us who have been lucky enough to have her in our lives. She was a genuinely good person, and I miss her.
Thank you for everything Grandma, I love you so much. I'm glad you finally have peace.

I remember when I was 3 years old Sally had asked us kids if we wanted to come live with her and eagerly we said yes. Since then she had aided in raising and caring for us as if we were her own children, never faltering in doing all that she could in making sure we would have a bright future. Her compassion, and love for not just people, but for Jesus had inspired and influenced the way I looked and talked with others and my faith over all. Grandmother I thank you for seeing me through into my adult years and seeing that my baby sister would graduate despite what life threw at us. My soul and heart are broken but I take solace that you can rest easy now, and that one day we will all meet again in the hereafter. I love you and miss you dearly.

It is with great sadness that I learn of Sally's passing. We worked together for over 10 years at The Las Colinas Association in the 1990's. Sally was a wonderful employee and a good friend. I will always remember her laugh and kind smile. She loved her family greatly and I know she will be sorely missed.

My mother, Sally, was born in San Augustine, Texas to her Father, Robert McElroy and Mother, Melba Nell McElroy, both deceased.  She is preceded in death by brother, Robert Earl McElroy, and sister Melba Lynn McElroy.  

Sally is survived by daughter,  Mikki Masters Karasic and husband Herb, son Michael Masters and wife Theresa, and daughter Misti Masters. She is also survived by grandchildren Darius Clark, Bishop Masters, Justine Shelton-Masters, Samuel Karasic, Amanda Karasic, Joshua Masters, and Nicole Masters. Her surviving siblings are Charles McElroy, and wife Theresa, and Freddie Sue McElroy Lewis.

Mother, my heart is broken. I love you very much, but I know you are with Jesus and are now happy and healthy.  I will hold you in my heart until we meet again in that "land beyond the river that we call the sweet forever".
