Sara Jane “Sally” Skinner, age 76, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2022 at her residence in Lakeside Texas. Sara was born to William Robert Skinner and Frances Lucille Kieffer on November 28th, 1945.
Her immediate family knew her as Sally or Sara, but to many others she was just “Mom”. She made friends easily and gave advice quickly (even when you didn’t want to hear it, just like Mom’s do). Her smile, her laughter, and love for others will surely be missed.
Sara was born in DeKalb Illinois on November 28th, 1945. As the daughter of an Aerospace Engineer, she moved around the country as jobs changed for her parents. The family finally settled in Fort Worth Texas where she attended Castleberry and Azle schools. Sara would continue her travels as the wife of an Navy NCO. She would finally settle again in Fort Worth Texas where she resided for the remainder of her life. She worked and accomplished many things, balancing both career and family activities. She retired from BAE Commercial Electronics in 2008 and was a proud member of the Local IAMAW 776 lodge.
Sara is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lucille Skinner, and her sons Chris and Sam Price. She is survived by her brother, Bill Skinner and wife Lynn, niece Kate and nephew Ryan; cousins Sue Owens and Jim Kieffer; daughter in law, Kay Price, granddaughter Laurel and grandson William Price, and great granddaughter Ryliee Young; along with numerous other family members, former co-workers, IAM members, and friends (her adopted families). She loved them and gave her time freely to all.
No services are currently planned, however a celebration memorial will be held at a future date.
