Valerie Fischer, age 78, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Hastings, Nebraska to Donn and Marilyn Fischer. She obtained an R.N. degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management. She retired in 2009 after a long career as a vascular surgical nurse.
Valerie was an amazing cook who loved to share her culinary creations with family and friends. She freely shared tips on techniques and her "secret" recipes with everyone. She also had her own catering business while pursuing her education. An avid gardener, she enjoyed growing the herbs and vegetables featured in her dishes. Valerie had an adventurous spirit and a real zest for life, always appreciating the finer things it had to offer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Alan, and infant sister Pamela. She is survived by her son Regan Copple (Liana) and daughter Gretchen Meagher (the late Diarmuid Meagher), grandsons AJ Agha and Kenechi Agha, sister Jan Haberer (Randy), niece Angela Nilsson (Wes), nephews Jim (Heather) and Chris (Elly), four great-nephews, and one great-niece.
