Adrian Joseph Valdez, age 40, of Chuichu Village, was welcomed into heaven on May 10, 2026. He was born on December 26, 1985, in Phoenix. Though his time on earth was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Adrian was a proud, loving father whose devotion to his children was steady and unconditional—whether he was making them laugh, teaching them life lessons, or simply sharing time together. He found peace outdoors and in nature, and he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and backyard BBQ’s where laughter filled the air and the people he loved were close by.
A hard-working and dedicated man, Adrian took pride in every job he did and worked tirelessly. He worked as a construction worker, farm worker, roofer, and firefighter, and his determination and strong work ethic were admired by all who knew him. In every role and in every season of life, he remained deeply beloved—valued not only for what he did, but for the care and loyalty he showed to those around him.
Adrian was a devoted son, father, brother, uncle, and friend who dedicated his life to the service of others. He was known for his loyalty to his family, his generous spirit, and the love he gave so freely. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his loved ones. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Adrian is survived by five sons and one daughter; four brothers; and eight sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tina Valdez; his father, Robert Arviso Sotelo Jr.; his grandmothers, Stella Valdez and Rosemary Sotelo; and his grandfather, Robert Arviso Sotelo.
Services will be on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Valdez Family Residence at 6:00 p.m. in Chuichu. The burial will follow on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. at Chuichu South Cemetery, Tohono O'odham Nation.
