CASA GRANDE - Alex McHaney, 78, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 30, 2016, at home, surrounded by his family.Mr. McHaney was born on July 9, 1938, in Cuero, Texas, to Ben and Santos McHaney. He served in the Navy from 1956 to 1959. He later farmed in the Casa Grande area for 59 years and had a significant impact on the community. He spent 10 years serving as a supervisor on the board for West Pinal Natural Resource Conservation District. He was a hardworking man who loved his family very much.He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyn; eight sons and daughters, Todd, Brett, Neil and Scott McHaney, Shanna Unger, Arthur and James Morrow and Mimi Triant; three brothers, Ben, Ernest and Franklin McHaney; a sister, Janie Crawford; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.The celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole and Maud Memory Gardens. Interment will be later.
