WEST SANTA ROSA VILLAGE — Alice D. Jose, 86, died Aug. 21, 2009 at Archie Hendricks Sr. Skilled Nursing Facility.The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Jose home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 7 p.m. by the Rev. Ignatius DeGroot. Burial will be early Sunday in Santa Rosa.Ms. Jose was born April 19, 1923 in Covered Wells, Tohono O’odham Nation, and was a daughter of Vincent and Rosita Jose. She was a homemaker and a lifelong Arizona resident. She was a historian of Tohono O’odham traditions.Survivors include two sisters, Sophie Saraficio of Santa Rosa and Lydia Jose of Stanfield.
