Daniel is survived by his children Veronica, Marlene, Julio, Danny, and Denelle Velasco. He is also survived by Nelie Colazo-Villa, Shaylene Velasco-Celaya, Jackie Garcia, Adeline Lewis, and 37 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four children: Bernadette, Herman D., Eldred, and Richard Velasco.
A service in honor of Daniel’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Velasco Family Home in GuVo. The burial will follow on Sunday, November 30, at 7:00 a.m. at GuVo Cemetery, under the Tohono O'odham Nation.
